The best Floyd money can buy
The Gotoh Floyd is way better feeling and sounding than any original or licensed Floyd I’ve used bar none.
I installed it on a used guitar that I paid $250.00 for. I liked the guitar and pickups a lot but the Floyd Rose special was causing me grief in tone, tuning and feel. The inherent wobble of the screw in arm was awful.
This is the best upgrade I have ever done. This guitar now sounds and plays like a dream. There is no loss in the lows and the intonation is spot on with no adjustment. I love the rounded saddles, very comfortable. The arm uses a set screw for tightness. there is absolutely no play whatsoever. Also the normal size block sounds as good or better than a big block upgrade without the restricted movement or cost.
I did have to Dremel the cavity a little to lengthen it a bit but no biggy.
I am taking the time to write this because if you’re on the fence about this or an original Floyd go with this.
Way better. I’m proud to have this on my guitar. There’s a reason Suhr and others are installing these now.
I can’t over state how much this has changed my guitar. For under $200.00 it now plays along side of guitars costing well over a grand or two. Do it and smile.

Great replacement for the TRS 2 on a JS 100
The TRS 2 is possibly the worst Floyd style bridge ever built. He has an annoying amount of play in the arm and is unpredictable at best. The Gotoh slipped right in (I didn’t replace the posts though I did unscrew them and put thread tape around them as you could ever so slightly wiggle them). I slid the plate that covers the spring cavity under the back of the bridge to keep it level, put some tension on the springs, tuned to pitch, adjusted the springs until I could slide the plate out. After a little fine-tuning all was well. The amount of tremolo control is superb. No arm wobble. The brass block improved sustain, and it returns to pitch after crazy abuse. I highly recommend this as a replacement.

Awesome upgrade
Excellent!, I have an Ibanez RG with the notorious edge lo TRS 2, hands down the worst locking bridge I’ve ever used(I have a Kahler, edge zr2, edge TRS 1, and Floyd rose original). Immediately as I dropped this in, the sustain was better, the tone was more full, and the return to pitch after crazy abuse was remarkable. Easily worth what I paid.
