- The SD series combines “Rock-solid” technology and the post collar or: “Self-Center Guide”, found on enclosed gears in the base plate of the gear allowing the post to perfectly align itself with the bushing which attaches the gear to the headstock.

I actually have the vintage version. Now this is a direct drop-in replacement. I was able to change the tuners in less than 10 minutes. It is indeed a big upgrade. My tuning became more stable, and of course string changing times was cut down by a lot. A highly recommend these locking tuners if you want to retain that vintage appeal.
