An excellent upgrade…
I bought these a few months ago to upgrade my 1962 Levin LM 26 steel string Goliath guitar. It’s a superb instrument that still had the rather poor quality original tuners – they go through 7mm holes and were slightly wobbly. After the upgrade the guitar has much more volume, sustain, and a richer tone. The tuners are well made, very smooth, and the posts are rock solid, which is important for transmitting the string vibrations efficiently.
I was concerned about neatly enlarging the holes in the headstock to the 10mm diameter needed for the tuners. So I used a 9mm wood drill to widen the holes, drilling 2/3 deep from the front and then 2/3 deep from the back of the headstock to minimize splintering you can get from drilling straight through the hole. Then I used a 10mm wood drill to enlarge the hole, but only from the back of the headstock, just deep enough to fit the tuner. The nut that secures the tuner from the front fits more securely into the 9mm hole.
They are beautifully smooth and so easy to turn so I had to tighten the screws in the heads a little, and the 16:1 ratio high enough for accurate tuning.

Excellent Millimeter Spec. Tuner!!
I bought a Grote ES 335 copy from China. The hardware was junk. These Schallers matched perfectly with the Millimeter metrics. After fret leveling, installing a Tusq nut, cutting the nut incorrectly and the precision of these fine tuners, the guitar sounds excellent and stays In tuned!

Tuning Stability for Under $40
I put these on a Firefly FF338 (Chinese Gibson 335 copy). I went from tuning every few minutes to a much more stable tuning after installing these. Sure there are more expensive ones out there, but if you’re looking for a modestly-priced, dependable set of non-locking tuners you really can’t go wrong with these.

Definitely Worth The Price And Then Some!
I have a Fender DC-60S All Mahogany which I bought just a couple of weeks and even though it sounds great, the stock tuners left a lot to be desired, so I took it upon myself to order these for it. I only had to wait 2 days for delivery which was great and installation only took around 15 minutes or so. When you install name tuners like these, not only does the tuning stability improve but also the tone of whatever guitar you are using as well. Now my Acoustic sounds like something that would cost at least 500 bucks or more and also not to mention with the 16.1 tuning range, my guitar now stays in perfect tune as well. I highly recommend these!

Great tuners worth every penny.
Great tuners! Pros: Very smooth and stays in tune. Cons: I had to drill the holes larger on my Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 LTD so beware if you have an Epiphone. I’m going to get another set for my acoustic.
