Nicely designed and constructed – works wonderfully – well worth every penny.

I used this to cure a Fender thinline of the dreaded ‘fret creep’ – had sharpies everywhere on both sides. The dual angle design was very effective, and the fine pitch of the file’s teeth didn’t take down the frets too quick, allowing me to work with a good bit of precision. What surprised me was the attention to detail – the wood block has eased edges, nicely finished with a laser engraved logo on the back. The file ends are beveled smooth, flush with the side of the block – I wasn’t expecting such a nicely finished piece. I don’t work on guitars all that much, so tools such as this will have limited use, but I’m glad I picked this one – it does a great job and is a pleasure to use. If you look at the competition, you can spend less, but you won’t get the finer toothed file or the quality fit and finish. Definitely worth the extra few dollars over the competition.

    does a great job!

This thing is awesome! I used it on a ukulele I’m building, and a job that normally takes an hour or two, only took 15 minutes or so. And the job was much better and more consistent than I could have done by hand. Even if I were only doing this one project, it would be worth the money (which was much less than a similar product from Stewart MacDonald). Get it – you won’t be sorry!

It will work fine at 90 or 35 until you get into frets …

It will work fine at 90 or 35 until you get into frets after the tongue, then file sticks out way too far for either.

    Take your time filing

Slow steady, light pressure when pushing. You’ re not doing auto body work. Multiple passes will do the job. Clean the file teeth. Tape the side of fretboard. Clean up the ends with less aggressive files or grits of sand paper.
