This thing is a beast. It removes alot of wood very fast.Carves a Ukulele neck out of a mahogany neck blank.

Great tool. Cuts like crazy on both the aggressive and finer side. My only complaint is after carving out this neck, the handle broke. It flexes toward the bottom now, so I have to choke up on the rasp or it’ll just keep bending, no big deal though. For how it well it works I don’t even care that the handle kinda sucks. Little bit difficult to get in tighter spaces, would be worth getting a smaller size if you plan on using it a lot.

It takes a few minutes to get the hang of how it works, but once that’s understood, this compact, but mighty rasp removes wood quickly and precisely. It’s great for beginners, pros, or anyone in between. From a safety perspective, wear gloves when using this tool. It is a hand tool. And if you want to remove wood aggressively, you will want both hands involved… one on the handle, the other on the top of the rasp. Since both sides have cutting edges, it won’t be long before an injury occurs when the tool is used this way without gloves. That said, I was able to remove the wood shown on this guitar body in about 45 minutes. Have fun and be safe!

Easy to use (might want to wear gloves for two hands use. Has two surfaces, coarse for fast material removal and a fine side for smoothing. For me this works better than traditional rasps. I wish I had come upon this years ago.
