Description

  • The Shinto saw rasp is the number one-selling rasp in Japan. It is the one tool that every woodworker should have in their tool chest/workshop.
  • These rasps are made using multiple saw blades joined together in a diamond configuration.
  • They are highly efficient at removing materials such as softwoods, hardwoods, soft metals, and composite materials.
  • One side is coarse for rapid wood removal and a fine side is for finishing cuts.
  • They are also ideal for general shaping work as the tooth configuration will not tear out the grain. On the contrary, they cut the grain fast and effectively. Lastly, the diamond pattern makes the rasp clog-resistant.

I’m a recreational wood carver. This is great for round areas, corners, and even going against the grain. Wish I bought this before most of my other tools

  2. trunyan

Worked as fast as my Nickolson rasp file, with a finer finish. After fine tuning the desired shape I could go straight to the card scraper, saving time and effort

  3. Mark A. Clark

Been carving guitar necks with this. Works great for rough shaping

  4. Charles R. Diem

If you are a woodworker or just a sometimes hobbyist, this saw rasp should be in your hand tool inventory. It’s something you never knew you needed until you have used it. Fairing off or hand chamfering is a breeze with this tool. Just love it!
