Conceptually this is like playing with the neck “more vertical”
Changed my life. Fundamentally altered the way I play guitar.
I’m able to set up my straps so that I can hang the guitars from the neck side of the strap and let the tail be supported by the tail end of the strap.
Conceptually this is like playing with the neck “more vertical”, like as if I were sitting and had the body between my legs. Realistically it’s not that exaggerated, but the effect is like having the guitar mounted to a stand. I don’t have to do any work to keep the guitar in playing position even when I’m playing pretty aggressively. I could never have this experience when I couldn’t trust my strap buttons!
I recommend using a dab of blue “Loctite” (Permatex threadlocker for example) when you mount the locks on your strap. You don’t want those coming loose.
Using these straplocks on 5 string basses and on 6 and 7 string guitars, on Levy, DR, and Perri straps.
