• The blade and chip breaker are held in place by compression and is adjusted with a

• The blade is made from blue paper steel laminated with soft iron.
• The plane’s body is made of Japanese White Oak.
• In general, traditional Japanese planes require maintenance to the sole.
• This plane has been relieved behind the blade and is ready to use. It does not require tuning to the sole of the plane.
• Some tuning to the supporting timber around the blade may be require before first use.
• In regards to Japanese smoothing planes; please note that the sole of the plane has been prepared ready for use as a smoothing plane and so no adjustments are required for this.
